First and foremost, I celebrate LGBTQIA++ individuals and families and identify as queer myself.  I love working with ALL families but I definitely have a special place in my heart for LGBTQIA identified folks and folks that are not centered in our society.  I celebrate all bodies and I believe from the very bottom of my heart that gender is a galaxy. 

Outside of birth work, one of my favorite joys in life is traveling. I love day trips, long cross-country road trips, and flying across the world to visit new places and meet new friends. When I’m not exploring new places, I’m often exploring a new subject. Lately, my nose is usually buried in books about astrology. One day I hope to be able to create and translate birth charts for people. However, I’m finding that the more I learn, the further this day slips from my grasp – it’s all so wonderfully and also painfully complex! I also love practicing many different types of Yoga, spending time in places with a lot of trees, and being next to or in the ocean (I’ve found that lake superior often fills my heart up just as well as the sea). During the past couple of winters, I’ve been loving polar-plunging in frozen lakes. I don’t understand why, but plunging into 32 degree water is incredibly calming. I often describe it as shaking me into peace (or maybe that’s just hypothermia).

I have been a doula since 2014 and am certified as a full spectrum birthworker. I have supported more than 300 families during the birth and postpartum period. I enjoy offering non-judgmental support during a time where folks are facing incredible amounts of opinions and unfair expectations. I love supporting your values as a birther and/or parent. And, if you don’t quite know what your values are yet, that’s okay too! I will support you every step of the way as your unique values and desires unfold.

I have extensive training and experience in supporting folks through the birth process, the postpartum time, and caring for newborns. Most importantly, I strive to never grow complacent. I am constantly shifting and growing from my experiences, as well as continuing to seek new education and experiences in order to provide excellent care for my clients.
