"We picked you to be our doula because you are our kind of weird"

a wise client once said to me

I identify as a queer, white, non-religious, neurodiverse, all-things-“woo”-loving, full-spectrum birthworker. My pronouns are they/them. I am not a parent to human children, but I am a dog-parent to a puppy I call Calypso Poppy (and sometimes I call them Popstar, Popsicle, Popcorn, or Poppy-pants). Poppy was born deaf so they easily ignore my favorite (but probably annoying) pastime of playing with their name. I love working with ALL families but I feel particularly passionate about supporting LGBTQIA++ folks! I also tend to have a natural affinity for supporting folks that identify as neurodiverse, folks that have to deal with fatphobia in our society and healthcare system and folks that have faced or are currently facing challenges with their mental health.

I absolutely love being a birthworker and I always feel honored when anyone picks me to be a part of their support team. However, if you would prefer to have a doula that identifies in a different way than I do, please see my community resource page or contact me for referrals. We have an incredibly large and diverse network of wonderful birthworkers in the Twin Cities and, more often than not, we can find someone that meets any specific needs or desires you may have when looking for support. I do not take offense if I am not the right fit for you and I love helping folks find their best-fitting doula!

Outside of birth-work, one of my favorite joys in life is traveling. I love day trips, long cross-country road trips, and flying across the world to visit new places and meet new friends. I particularly love spending time in places with a lot of trees, and being next to (or swimming in) large bodies of water. When I’m not exploring new lands, I’m often exploring a new subject. Lately, my nose is usually buried in books about astrology. I now read natal charts for folks and am absolutely loving the way astrology can help folks find deep self-acceptance and empowerment. I am also working on my Master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy and am excited to one day support families as a therapist in addition to being a birthworker.

I have been a doula for 10 years and have supported more than 300 families during the pregnancy, birth and postpartum period. I enjoy offering non-judgmental support during a time where folks are facing incredible amounts of opinions and unfair expectations. I love supporting your values as a birther and/or parent. And, if you don’t quite know what your values are yet, that’s okay too! I will support you every step of the way as your unique values and desires unfold.

I am also an abortion doula and am fiercely passionate about this work. I do not charge a fee for supporting folks with abortion. I have more resources for folks needing abortion support on the community resource page as well.

Thank you so much for visiting! I would love to hear from you whether you are interested in my birth services, postpartum or newborn care services, education services, abortion support or are simply in need of some guidance. If you’d like to know more, please contact me for a free consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!
